The EACOP project is a proposed 1,443 km oil export pipeline that will transport crude oil from Kaballe, Uganda to Tanga Port in Tanzania.
Ms. Whitney provided technical support and QAQC for the geological site investigation along the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (Tanzania and Uganda).
This phase consisted of engineering geologic field mapping within a 2 km buffer along 1447 kilometers of the proposed pipeline alignment and field verification and characterization of main fault zones crossed by the pipeline route, as interpreted by BRGM and others.
In addition to monitoring daily progress of mapping teams, validating the mapping results, and interfacing with clients, Ms. Whitney developed a database template to facilitate and standardize bedrock and surficial unit characterisation.
